The Rural Heart Of The Island

Here is a glimpse of the community growing fields in the heart of Koh Trong. My husband and I are lucky enough to be able to call this our 'back garden' for the next five months. We are here to gain a better understanding of daily life on this peaceful island in the centre of the Mekong river in Kratie, Cambodia. Koh Trong is proud to call itself a sustainable community led tourism destination, and there are many reasons to visit. For those who make the trip to the island we hope to be able to provide you with some more information on what you can see and do when you arrive.

I have been working on community led food projects since 2007 and decided to swap the streets of London for the fields of Cambodia. While this project is not entirely about food I am sure it will feature as a large part of what we do and what we share. David my husband is a freelance illustrator battling with an unpredictable 3G connection. He will be helping to map the Island and create new signs so that visitors don't miss out on the best sights.
